Hi all!  For my English class I'm taking at school, we have partnered up with the wonderful program, Bridge of Books Foundation, created in Rumson, New Jersey.  Our goal is to collect books to donate to schools all over New Jersey that would otherwise have very few.  This is such a beautiful philanthropy because it helps children close to our homes, maybe even within our own school districts.  Without literacy, these children will have less of a chance of getting a job in the future, and of course lack the necessary abilities to learn through books, online articles, newspapers, and even simple billboards and signs. According to Nancy Parello, Communications Director of Advocates for Children of New Jersey, more than half of New Jersey’s fourth-graders are not reading proficiently by 4th grade.  In addition, 78% of low-income 4th graders scored below proficiency on national tests.  My fundraising goal is one hundred dollars, if you or anyone you know would support this foundation, it would be greatly appreciated.
