Dear Family and Friends,
This semester I am taking a service learning class. My class members and I are taking part in a virtual book drive that will benefit underprivileged kids who can't afford books. How many books do you have on your bookshelves? How many books do you have on your bookshelves that are untouched? Those books that you don't use anymore could make a child's day so much better.
I am fundraising for a non-profit organization called Bridge of Books in West Long Branch. Their mission is to provide an ongoing source of books to underserved children throughout New Jersey in order to support the development of literacy skills and encourage a love of reading. Their goal is to get as many books as possible into the hands of New Jersey’s underserved children. They collect books through book drives, individual donations, publisher overstocks and corporate donors. Bridge of Books has been up and running in New Jersey for 12 years and has donated 577299 books over the years and have helped approximately 275,000 children.
So please open your hearts (and wallets ;) ) and help make a child's day better and their future brighter!
Thanks so much,
Leesie
Imagine growing up with no books in your home.
Books have the power to change lives - educationally, socially, emotionally and professionally. Unfortunately, there are still too many children today without books in their homes, schools and communities.
You can help. Become a fundraiser, and host a virtual book drive from the comfort of your home.
Help us fill bookshelves. Help us change a child’s life.
